WHY ARE FASHIONABLE OUTFITS EXPENSIVE?

Everyone loves to go shopping. While we are shopping, we come across many brands whose outfits intrigue us, but we can hardly afford them — the reason being the high prices. The outfits coming from renowned brands are too expensive for a person living on an average salary.

What makes them expensive is something we have all wondered for once. But we were too lazy to make a google search about that. Now that your curiosity has brought you here. It will be made sure that you leave with some answers about why fashionable outfits are expensive.

So, there are four reasons for fashionable outfits being expensive-

1) Labor COSTS
An outfit is only as good as the amount of effort put into making it. The designer designs the outfit and sends it for manufacturing. It is the labor that actually works on those designs. The more intricate the design of the outfit, the more costly the labor charges.

Labor cost is one of the fixed costs that affect the manufacturing process the most. Manufacturers have to keep their workers happy, or they might get naughty with the designs. Also, labor costs vary from country to country. It is quite high in developed countries like France. While in developing countries, it is relatively less.

2) RARITY
Whenever a brand decides to put on a new design for sale, they make sure that it is not produced in bulk. The availability of a product affects its market value. The rarer the item, the higher its cost will be.Fashion brands exploit this fact and produce limited units of a certain design.

The Limited amount of outfits is then priced overwhelmingly. People who have a thing for limited editions try their best to get their hands on them. When a normal person manages to have a look at the designer’s wonder, he is taken aback by its cost. Such fashionable outfits are probably not meant for common folks.

3) BRAND VALUE
Let’s be true to each other. Our decision to buy something relies heavily on what brand it is coming from. Lets take a common example here: A t-shirt from your local market made of good quality cotton may cost you around 500 bucks. However, a t-shirt made of the same quality cotton coming from the US Polo Association will probably cost you about 2000 bucks. It is all about the name on the label.

The difference in the prices is because of brands. Brands have their value in the market and in people's minds. You won’t gift your wife a normal purse on an anniversary; it has to be Gucci or Louis Vuitton. Why? Because again, it is all in the name.

4) MATERIALS USED

Brands making fashionable outfits and accessories make sure that they are delivering the best quality products. If it is not for the quality products, their brand values will get diminished. This will cause a lot of customers, followed by an imminent loss.
Hence, another reason why fashionable outfits are hard to afford is because of the quality of materials used in them. Companies make sure that they are using material of the highest quality standards. This adds value to their final products.
Now you know what to say when someone exclaims, “Itna Mehnga!?” in your face.
