Christian Louboutin Expands Brand with Stylish New Sunglasses Collection

Christian Louboutin, renowned for its iconic red-soled stiletto shoes, is stepping into the eyewear market with a bold new collection of sunglasses and optical frames. Known for his innovative designs, Louboutin’s red soles became legendary when he used nail polish to paint the soles of his stilettos at an early trade show—a move that helped launch the brand into fashion stardom. The brand has since expanded its offerings to include a full beauty line, handbags, accessories, a children’s shoe line, and bridal footwear. Now, Louboutin is adding eyewear to its growing empire.

The Christian Louboutin Eyewear Collection, created in partnership with Marcolin, marks the luxury designer’s first-ever venture into sunglasses and optical glasses. The range includes nine sunglass styles in various colors and four optical styles, designed for both men and women. Prices for the collection range from approximately $625 to $875, available for purchase online through Christian Louboutin’s official website and at Saks Fifth Avenue locations.

Inspired by Louboutin’s dedication to perfecting structural lines, the eyewear collection features distinctive design elements that echo the brand’s rich visual codes. Expect bold spike studs, sleek metallic finishes, pointy edges reminiscent of Louboutin’s signature stilettos, and, of course, the instantly recognizable red accents. Key styles include oversized Navigator frames adorned with tiny spikes, Art Deco-inspired cat-eye and oval frames featuring subtle red sole hardware, and mesh detailing on the temples and bridges that recall Louboutin’s fishnet-inspired patterns seen in his iconic footwear designs.

Incorporating cutting-edge technology, the eyewear collection is crafted with ZEISS lenses that ensure crystal-clear vision, enhanced with anti-reflective coatings, glare reduction, and superior durability. The styles exude “modern luxury” and blend acetate and metal trims, delivering both aesthetic appeal and functional comfort.

A standout feature of the eyewear line is the use of red accents, which appear in subtle yet striking details—such as red trims on the Georges and Greggo 2 frames, or the eye-catching cherry red lenses in the Miss Z style, taking the “rose-colored glasses” concept to a whole new level. These details also draw inspiration from Louboutin’s successful beauty line, bringing a cohesive design language across his diverse range of products.

To celebrate the launch, Marcolin is hosting an exclusive debut event in New York at the stylish The Nines restaurant and piano room. The venue’s striking red decor perfectly complements the bold aesthetic of the new eyewear collection.

Christian Louboutin’s eyewear line is poised to become a must-have accessory for fashion-forward individuals, offering a blend of luxury, innovation, and signature design.
