Meet Indian Origin Simon Ashley who will play the female lead in Bridgerton Season 2
The bittersweet memories of the end of the first season are accompanied by refreshing news of the second part. Billowing gown, a fresh mix of romance and drama and more scandal than your screen can handle. The modern-day drama Bridgerton surpassed all Netflix records, becoming the largest series of streamers ever. It was viewed by 82 million families in its first four weeks. Producer Chris Van Dusen said in an announcement about Bridgerton Season 2-“We have a bunch of new characters that we’re going to introduce,” “Anthony is going to make interest in love next season and I think it’s going to be in the form of sweeping and moving, and from the viewer of the first season, they are as beautiful as expected from the show. ”
As to who will assume the much expected role of Kate, Anthony’s love interest, in season 2 was recently announced. And it is no other than the Indian-origin artist Simon Ashley. The young actor is famous for her role as Olivia Hanan in Netflix’s Sex Education series and has been a guest in the psychological thriller named The Sister. She also appeared in season 3 of the British crime drama Broadchurch.
Netflix recently alerted their fans of the exciting news via a tweet saying, “Get ready to fall in love with Simone Ashley, she will play the role of Kate in Bridgeton’s Season 2. Kate is a smart, headstrong girl who doesn’t like to be fooled in any way. Anthony Bridgerton included.”
The casting has already earned a nod of approval from Julia Quinn. The author also took to Instagram to congratulate Ashley, “Welcome to #Bridgerton, @simoneasshley! I couldn’t dream of a more perfect Kate.”
Season 2 of Bridgerton focuses on the wedding possibilities of the eldest Bridgerton siblings, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey). And while Season 1 ended with the identification of Lady Whistledown in a dramatic way, the upcoming leg, releasing on January 21, 2022 is bound to be more interesting, this time in the context of Anthony and Kate’s love affair.
