FH Influencer Voice – Featuring Blogger Monish Chandan

Monish has a very positive vibe around himself that makes him dear to anyone he meets. Fashion Herald recently got in touch with Monish to know more about his work and his insights into the influencer industry of India.

Tell us what your blog is really all about.

             

I started blogging 8 years ago, I blog about my myriad experiences at www.monishchandan.com . Its called “My Life Experiences” I cover Food, Fashion, Lifestyle, Technology, Health & Fitness. As you can see I have diversified profile. Well Blogging just happened by chance I never thought I will be a blogger or reach greater heights in blogging. It is just my passion to write and that’s how it got me into it.

Let me tell you my story, I used to write in my personal diary and keep it to myself. One day I showed it to my friends, they really liked it and told me to start writing on our intranet server. I actually received lots of comments there. Being closed group it would mean only certain set of people would be my readers. My friends then motivated me to start a blog on wordpress so that it reaches global audience and everyone knows about it. And that’s how the blogging “keeda” started.


Tell us about your top liked blog post and your biggest achievement till date.


My top liked blog post is Oppo mobile F11 video blog.There are many instances where my audience used my coupon codes but I’ll share this one where my followers purchased Oppo F11 PROmobile worth 25k after watching my Instagram stories and messaged me with the purchase order screenshot. It gives me immense pleasure to say I have influenced their decision and felt so good. That is the power of real influencer where you convert lead into sales for brands. Second Instance : I was the only fashion blogger from India to promote US Life Jacket (Wear Homi ) brand launched in Dec 2019.


What methodology do you follow while deciding a topic for your next blog post ?

I always say content is the real king. The quality  & uniqueness are two key factors that makes people come back to your profile and stay relevant to current trends. When I am working on my content I present it in a story form so my audience can relate it easily. For any concept, I research the subject, goes through multiple ideas , checks the trends and with brand’s  guidelines before zeroed down and next part is to create moodboard and the final execution.


Everyone wants to be an influencer these days but actually being a successful influencer is not that easy. What hardships did you have to overcome to be a successful influencer that you are?

Well I would say it not a stroll in the park. Dont come in blogging if you think its shortcut to earn money. Its not easy to make it . As I said  earlier,content is the ultimate King. Focus on quality writing to create a long lasting impression.Make your blog content unique, bring creativity then money will follow automatically.  


Who do you follow as a role model in the influencer arena ?

I have been huge fan of Rowan Row .The way he has establishes his brand in Men’s fashion is amazing and He has a great style , fashion sense and brings up creativity in all his shoots. 

How has the lockdown phase been for you? Has market disruption affected your work as well? Are you doing anything to help your clients overcome this challenge?

Lockdown phase helped me introspect my qualities and how I could create content with limited resources, not only it helped me grow in my personal space with full freedom in creativity but also showcasing fashion creatives.  As I said create original content and rest all will work accordingly.  I am supporting brands by promoting on pro-no basis for stories that help increase engagement and grow audience.
