Craftsmanship in every stitch | Featuring Ali Younes Collection

As the art of making by hand continues to die, the essence of Maison Ali Younes is its unique artisanal craftsmanship… craftsmanship in every stitch.

The Journey

Born in 1986, Ali Younes grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. Having learned the basics of tailoring from his mother, a seamstress in Beirut, Ali was always fascinated by the process of turning a conceptual sketch into a fully realized dress, the way a garment hangs, the quality of the material, its ease of wear and flexibility.

A talented artist, he discovered his love for fabric at an early age, playing with leftover pieces he found around the house. Which is why fate intervened in 2006 when, after briefly delving into the field of architecture, a guest at the hotel where he was working noticed him sketching; he took Ali’s portfolio and later offered him a position in a fashion house in Kuwait.

Hence a new adventure began with the first steps towards fulfilling childhood dreams… the training and experience Ali acquired at his new job were absolutely invaluable! And so in 2008, he opened his own atelier and had his first breakthrough: a wedding dress masterpiece that was widely shared on social media and gave him immense exposure.

Throughout the years that followed, the name Ali Younes found itself shining amongst the stars, being featured on the red carpet worldwide, dressing celebrities, with multiple successes at Cannes… Such names as Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Isabelli Fontana, Amanda Holden, Jordan Sparks, Jeannie Mai, Josephine Skriver, Anna Beatiz Barros and others make up that illustrious list.

Ali went on in 2016 to produce his first complete collection, La Forêt Mystique: an opulent display of his versatility and vision. The marvelous photos of the collection also circulated widely on social networks, acting as a gateway to Ali’s appearance in prime fashion magazines. And with his second and latest collection, A Royal Affair, Ali continues to realize his ongoing fascination with timeless and elegant design.

The Maison

Maison Ali Younes is known for an unwavering devotion to the quality of its service and its craftsmanship, and a flawless execution of design that favors timeless silhouettes: the elegance of yesterday for the woman of today. The fashion house currently operates ateliers in both Beirut and Kuwait, and is in the process of expanding its couture expertise to include Prêt-à-Porter.

The Execution

Tailored to perfection, the garments produced by Maison Ali Younes are refined statements of sheer luxury and elegance. They command attention with every stitch and fold. They proudly display craftmanship and a commitment to flawlessness with every detail.

The Collection

A Royal Affair collection revels in its femininity, brought to life through tight corsets, delicate capes and plunging necklines that are revealing but never immodest. The dresses are perfectly cinched at the waist, creating a classically elegant form, further emphasized by ruffles and cascading fabric. The flowing lines and clever structuring drape perfectly, resulting in bold, extravagant and sophisticated silhouettes.

Staying true to its name, truly royal in every way, the array of construction choices continues with tulle sculptures and lustrous, flowing taffeta… rich and intricate embroidery, hand-stitched with crystals and delicate laser-cut lace collars, the material used in the collection were precisely selected for their understated luxury and their ability to create a profoundly striking silhouette.

The restrained palette includes the ever-classic black… dark, rich reds and yellows, alongside softer, lavish pastels in powder pink, light grey and rich ivory – colors that seamlessly lend themselves to both day and night.
