An Unconventional Doctor – Dr Hanaan Choudhary
Who said that you cannot have more than one dream while graciously succeeding at all?
Fashion Herald brings to you the story of Doctor Hanaan Choudhary, a medical practitioner as well as a fashion model along with a fitness enthusiast.
Ever since his childhood days, Doctor Hanaan was always fascinated with the fashion and modeling industry. He spent his childhood surrounded by fashion magazines of his mother which intrigued him. At the same time his father’s strenuous routine as a surgeon also had made an impression on him and sometimes he used to accompany him to his work. So both of these fields became interesting for Dr. Hanaan at an early stage.
The doctor is not just into fitness and fashion but also is a major winter sports enthusiast.
” I was ‘bitten by the snow bug’ 5 years ago when an old friend introduced me to snowboarding.”
Gulmarg, Kashmir is the winter wonderland of India where Hanaan achieved advanced level of snowboarding from highest Gondola in the world (4500m approx).
Hanaan is a major advocate of winter sport and its an addiction for him . He makes sure to take at least a week’s time-off from work and go snowboarding, and hasen’t missed in the past 5 years. “The experience is always exhilarating”.
“In 8th standard I realized that I actually wanted to be a professional model” revealing to us, Dr. Hanaan says that his parents were always supportive of his decisions, but he understood through rational thinking that having a career backbone is necessary to survive in the society, therefore he put his energy and focus into the medical field to build up a safer career option. “The medical field does not offer you the luxury of a hobby or a part time” says Hanaan. But he was always confident that he would be coming back to the modeling field one day.
In the medical field, one does not usually get time to follow their hobbies, and that’s what happened to him as well. Although he always wanted to be a part of the fashion industry, medical studies turned out to be very consuming, turning him out of shape.
Fortunately during the “honeymoon period” of his college life (don’t smirk, that is what you call your internship period in the medical field) , when he got a break from studies, he started to focus on his fitness and modeling career.“I started to work out and saw a different world out there.” That was a time when Hanaan starter getting into shape and came to social media. The brands endorsements on social media soon followed for him.
When asked what he does not like about the fitness industry, he said “I realised that there is so much misinformation and people blindly trust their so-called fitness gurus and trainers that they don’t realise the amount of damage they’re doing to themselves by using unnatural supplements and bogus advice. Unfortunately fitness has become a money yielding source for some.
People should read and do their research before following any advise blindly.”
After getting into shape, Dr. Hanaan started to visit social events and made contacts, he started to get approached by others and received appreciation and motivation to continue. That’s how he stepped into the fashion industry.
As he belonged from Jammu, we asked Dr. Hanaan about the changing fashion trends in Jammu.
He informed that the fashion trends have started upgrading due to two main reasons. Firstly, the students in Jammu go out to study, hence collecting a lot of exposure and when they come back to their hometown they bring tons of new Fashion knowledge.
Secondly, the social media, with its vastness, has a lot of impact on the fashion sense of Jammu.
When we asked Dr. Hanaan about his ultimate dream, he shared that while he doesn’t want to leave his medical profession because he is “hooked-up” to the satisfaction of saving lives, it doesn’t mean that he will stop growing in the field of fashion.
Dr. Hanaan also shared that he is a great foodie and loves to socialize with people.
He also shared his Fitness mantra with us for all of those who are biting their finger nails looking at his stunning figure, “Calories in and Calories out. Have an idea of what you eat.”
So that was the story of Doctor Hanaan Choudhary, an unconventional doctor, model and definitely an ‘Eye Candy’ (As per the title given by his juniors in college )
