FH Influencer Voice – Featuring Influencer Radhika Gupta
Radhika started her blog in 2017 as an outlet for her fashion hedonism, something she worked on daily to document her daily style, an outlet for her editorial creativity and simply for her love for all things sartorial. Radhika has been addicted to the online space since as long as she remembers.
Tell us what your blog is really all about.
Fashion and beauty, for me, has always been a representation of my personality. How an artist expresses their emotions through the paintings, I express my ideas, my opinions and my individuality through my dressing and naturally, the blog. I relentlessly believe in being an inventor of your own style. I have so many days where I can’t imagine wearing anything but yoga pants and there’s no fashion guru in this universe that can stop me.
Tell us about your top liked blog post and your biggest achievement till date.
It was in 2020, during lockdown, I was trying different hairstyles at home and thought of sharing it with my audience. The response was mind blowing, people loved my hairstyle content and ever since I haven’t stopped creating that content. I have been receiving brand collaborations every week, which is my biggest achievement so far. Earlier I used to try hard to get collaborations but with time you get what you deserve, but I still haven’t reached my goal.
What methodology do you follow while deciding a topic for your next blog post ?
There is no methodology as such that I follow, I always try to create content within my niche with the on going trends and festivals.
Everyone wants to be an influencer these days but actually being a successful influencer is not that easy. What hardships did you have to overcome to be a successful influencer that you are?
Ofcourse, I had days when I wanted to give up on everything because of the hate that I used to get, and I still have those days but the next day I make sure to shut their mouth by creating more content. My dad still doesn’t support my decision but I want to make him proud one day from this career that I chose for myself. I am not earning enough according to the amount I spend on creating content.
Who do you follow as a role model in the influencer arena ?
Well, it’s Masoom Minawala, my all time favourite influencer. The best thing is her feed strongly promotes her love for Indian designers. In her bid to help small designers tide over the 2020 pandemic, she started a series of short fashion videos where she personally curated lists of brands to pick for various budgets and occasions.
How has the lockdown phase been for you? Has market disruption affected your work as well? Are you doing anything to help your clients overcome this challenge?
To be very honest, lockdown phase for my field has been very good as most of my audience used to engage and that’s what a success looks like in this field but at some point it has disrupted my work.
