Shivan & Narresh Unveil New Couture Collection at New Delhi Runway Show

Luxury fashion house Shivan & Narresh recently unveiled their latest couture line, ‘Couture Series IV,’ with a spectacular runway show at The Upper HSE by Tivoli in New Delhi. The collection, featuring 45 stunning looks for both men and women, draws inspiration from the abstract works of Swedish artist Hilma af Klint, seamlessly translating her visionary art into avant-garde evening wear.

The runway was a visual feast as models showcased richly textured garments that captured the essence of Hilma af Klint’s abstract paintings. The designs shimmered with the brilliance of metallic and glass beads, pearls, and intricate embellishments, bringing a sense of luxury and sophistication to the collection. Shivan & Narresh’s ‘Couture Series IV’ embraced fluidity and structure through the use of handcrafted knits made from silk and lurex yarns. The collection featured a striking color palette, ranging from vibrant magenta, yellow, and deep red hues to steely greys, glittering whites, and dramatic midnight blacks.

“Couture represents the ultimate expression of artistry and craftsmanship for us, with each series serving as a canvas to express our creativity,” explained head designer Shivan Bhatiya and creative director Narresh Kukreja in a press release. “Exploring Hilma af Klint’s canvases has been an exhilarating journey since we first encountered her works at the Tate Modern in London during the summer of 2023. This series has been a fantastical exploration, weaving a spiritual experience through color, mystical motifs, and luxurious textures to create a tactile language of contemporary couture.”

The ‘Couture Series IV’ collection by Shivan & Narresh artfully blends abstract shapes with meticulous detailing, delivering sculptural and bold silhouettes for both men and women. Cut-out fabric segments and asymmetrical designs created a dramatic effect, while the inclusion of sarees added a touch of traditional elegance to the lineup.
