When Make-Up meets Art – Featuring Ria Ghosh
Make-up is something that can be done by all, but it does take a little more talent and fervour towards it that makes some of the most brilliant make-up artists. In our search for various talented MUAs from none other than the City of Nawabs- Lucknow, we came across one Make-Up Artist, Ria Ghosh, who believes that for her, Make-Up is an expression of Art and creativity.
Inclined towards art from her childhood, for Ria this passion is much more than just looking good, it’s about the depth that she wishes to express through her Make-Up. This insight into the world of Make-Up is definitely different from the norms of Lucknow Make-Up trends.
Avant-Garde as her signature style, Ria Ghosh chooses to experiment with new concepts in her make-up to create amazing looks favoring her ideology of bringing cr eativity and fashion together to create Art. She believes that make-up is a source for portraying her art and creativity.
She shares that her inspirations are Torani, Sabyasachi Mukherjee for their style of working and concepts as prominent Fashion designers, and she also greatly admires Frida Kahlo and Cleopatra as an artist.
If you are thinking about entering into this world of make-up artists, Ria Ghosh shares that one should be creative and motivated to create something new, different from the limitations of Make-Up. She believes that one should be open to art, and creativity in this field to leave their own mark and not just follow what has already been there. She also shares that Lucknow is not yet completely accepting of this new concept of Make-Up, and that becomes a struggle for the artists who are into this field of creating art through Make-Up. Even in places where people are more acceptable, the talent is outstanding and it takes a lot of courage and struggle to make a face for yourself. But if it’s your passion you must be willing to take that risk right?
In the interview Ria also shared with us some of her favourite brands, “Sabyasachi, Torani, Raw Mango, Arjun Kamanth, Tarun khiwal, Pat McGrath, Harper’s Bazaar and Dhruv Singh”
At last, Ria Ghosh shares that wants people to explore more than just the mainstream Make-Up and incorporate Fashion with Art, she believes that people should be more open towards it. She says that the Art of Make-Up is beyond physical beauty and that should be bold enough to carry its message and purpose, thereby giving a totally different view of the Make-Up world known to us.
With Ria Ghosh we explored the world, where Make-Up meets Art.
