Top designers to showcase in the phygital fashion week by Lakmé and FDCI this October | Top Fashion Lifestyle Curator Magazine Mumbai Lucknow Delhi
The dates for the much awaited Phygital Fashion Week by Lakmé Fashion Week and the Fashion Design Council of India have been announced. The joint fashion week will be held this October following a the new ‘phygital’ format.
Celebrity designer Tarun Tahiliani will be opening the event though a digital showcase which will be jointly presented by FDCI and Lakmé Fashion Week, the organisations announced in a statement. The event will be an amalgamation of physical runway shows with digital presentations that will enable social distancing measures and creative diversity.
“The Fashion Design Council of India for decades has tirelessly worked to make the design industry lead from the front and leave a global footprint,” said FDCI chairman, Sunil Sethi in a statement, APN News reported.
“Our partnership with Lakmé Fashion Week to present a joint schedule this season too, has blurred geographical boundaries and will help one view the Indian fashion industry more holistically. It also enables both FDCI and LFW to deliver the best and obtain in all forms, be it creative or the business of fashion.”
The season will see particiaption of ace designers including Payal Jain, Rana Gill, Anamika Khanna, Pankaj & Nidhi , Jade by Monica & Karishma, MXS by Monisha Jaising and Shweta Bachchan,Limerick by Abirr n’ Nanki, Nikita Mhaisalkar, Abhishek Gupta, Geisha Designs by Paras & Shalini, Rina Dhaka, Shruti Sancheti, Arpita Mehta, Chola, Nidhi Yasha, Nirmooha among others, the FDCI announced on Facebook. The fashion week will also be sponsored by businesses including Nexa, Ajio,Rise Fashion and Lifestyle, the Natural Diamond Council, and Logitech to partner with designers on their runway presentations.
“Lakmé led the inception of the Fashion Week in India decades ago with the idea of driving the twin worlds of fashion and beauty for the discerning Indian consumer,” said Lakmé’s head of innovations, Sumati Mattu. “Since the beginning of the Lakmé Fashion Week, our attempt has been to inspire thought leadership while driving the interests and expansion of the Indian Fashion Industry and giving a stage to fresh design talent in the country.”
“Our continued collaboration with FDCI to present a joint schedule, creates more opportunities for the industry to thrive and brings in more fresh talent into the industry folds,” said Mattu.
