Three New Make-up Trends You’re Totally Gonna Love
‘Coz we love the joy make-up gives you!
Make-up is the best accessory. It gives you power, confidence, liberty to express yourself visually and so much glam. With make-up, comes trends and with trends, comes yet another reason for us to stock up on new products. And that’s always the goal, right? 😉 2020 is the year of all the makeup MAXIMALISTS and we couldn’t be happier! All these years our fluorescent palettes and rainbow Illuminators have seen nothing but darkness and murkiness, stored and stuffed at the deepest ends of our makeup cabinets, devoid of any human touch and usage. But, now is their time to shine(ifykwim) . It’s time for us extremists to finally shine and be EXTRA AF without being deemed as over dramatic and theatrical! If we could sum up all the biggest beauty trends of this season into just one word, we’d pick : FUN. So without further ado, let’s jump right into it.
2020 Trend #1 : All Pink Everything! 💕
“Whoever said that orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed!” Elle Woods’ comment back from the 00s completely makes sense even today. If there’s one color that you should be expecting to see more of, in 2020, it’s pink. Pink is not just a color, but also an emotion. Oh and also, one of the biggest makeup trends of 2020! Pink is EVERYWHERE this season, be it Candice Swanpoel’s hot pink lipstick or Scarlett Johansson’s millennial pink contour, this trend is here to stay. Anybody who thinks pink make-up is too juvenile needs to take a good look at this season’s runway beauty looks, pink blush was the prime focus at Hermes and at Aigner, pinky cheeks were complimented with lavender pink lips for a cute and cohesive lewk! You could prettify it up by making a statement going all-out with a brighter hue (image #1), or settle for a rather conservative look which is BTW, totally spring appropriate! (image #2). So, which one would your pick be?
2020 Trend #2 : Embellish That Eyelid!
We have two words for this : unconventional and magnificent! This trend stood out at the runway in a majestic way and has already sneaked its way into the Instagram selfies of our favorite bloggers and celebrities. Spotted at Anna Sui’s spring 2020 show, it was noticed at the House of Holland in London as well and also, Rosie Assoulin in New York created the perfect rhinestone look for us to play with. This trend is the perfect excuse for us to finally channel our inner creative maximalism and to put it to good use. You could mottle up each inch of your cheekbones with pearls and embrace the freckles you never had or just paste a diamond at your lower lash line and create a dramatic liner look to assimilate two trends into one whole look. Or you could do things the Indian way (which obviously is the star of any and every show) and smather a little rhinestone accent at the end of your winged liner for a delicate and graceful touch to your otherwise bold make-up. Whatever be your choice, one thing’s for sure : the presence of such speckled tinnies will keep you in a great mood all day long! Who knew we’d be bedazzling and embellishing our faces for fun in 2020, and that it’ll look JUST. SO. COOL.
2020 Trend #3 : Keen On Brightest Beauty Neon!
This beaming and vivid trend is PERFECT for the spring-summer season this year. Both trendy and spontaneous,it provides instant glow and luminosity that will make you look like the jewel in the crown! First witnessed in the teen drama Euphoria last year, this trend made an entry in the runways in a rather unusual fashion. Helmet Lang swapped the basic black liner for a bright neon-colored one, whereas Oscar De La Renta spring show 2020 juxtaposed beaming, colorful neon looks on pastel understated evening gowns, proving how your make-up could be the star of the show too, be it a pool party or a chic event. Everyone from Kylie Jenner to Priyanka Chopra is rocking these electric shades out and about! You could go all out with your neon shadow by combining it with bolder hues, or just make it the focal point of your eye look by blending it in with neutral tones or simply dampen it by using it as your eyeliner. Whatever be your look of choice, it’ll look just as amazing, we’re sure.
Now that you know, which of these trends will you master and show off on your insta feed this lockdown? 😍
