Thomas Barlok Appointed Head of Menswear Buying at Peek & Cloppenburg (P&C)
In a strategic move to reshape its buying division, Peek & Cloppenburg (P&C) Düsseldorf has appointed Thomas Barlok as the new head of menswear buying. The announcement follows the retailer’s plans, unveiled in November, to overhaul its buying strategy. Under the leadership of Chief Product Officer (CPO) Jason Morgan, P&C has been assembling a new leadership team with a broader range of responsibilities, positioning the company for continued growth and innovation in its buying and procurement operations.

Barlok, a seasoned retail executive, returns to Düsseldorf to take on the key role of leading P&C’s menswear segment. With a strong background in the fashion industry, he brings valuable experience from previous senior roles at renowned brands like Lacoste and Hugo Boss. Barlok’s career began at Anson’s, the menswear subsidiary of P&C, where he served as a floor manager. He then moved on to leadership positions at Hugo Boss and Lacoste, most recently holding the position of Director at Lacoste Germany, where he managed wholesale operations across Northern and Central Europe.
As head of menswear buying at Peek & Cloppenburg, Barlok will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy for the menswear category. He will report directly to Jason Morgan, CPO and managing director of buying, starting on June 2, 2025.
This appointment follows the departure of Stefan Jakobs, the former head of menswear buying, who left the company at the end of last year. Barlok’s arrival marks a significant step in P&C’s broader restructuring efforts. The company is also undergoing leadership changes in other segments, with former Sportscheck CMO Anna Rusche joining as buying director for young fashion, sportswear, and sneakers across both men’s and women’s categories in the European market. Currently, Jason Morgan is overseeing the womenswear buying division on an interim basis.
With this dynamic leadership team in place, Peek & Cloppenburg is poised to strengthen its position in the competitive European retail market.
