Monsoon Feature – Shama Sikander

I am an actor an entrepreneur a producer and a mental health advocate. My father chose for me to become an actor . I loved performing as a child in schools theatre and loved dancing on stage i was good at it so he thought this was the best career for me. He used to meet a lot of people from the industry a d was invited to many film parties, he was enamored by all the glamour of the stars and he felt I deserve to have it too hence this industry.

Describe your journey as an actress.

My journey in the past has been quite exciting, lots of ups and downs. Lots of rejection and failure and a few successes. I learned a lot of not only my career but humans and how the world functions. Saw a lot of darkness and light. It transformed me into a person that i am today and I’m very grateful for that. Its much much better now. Its smooth ride from when you learn to love yourself and become confident in your mind. Things changed once that happened to me. lot to learn still though . Because I feel my real journey has just begun as an actor as an artist. There’s so much to do and so much to achieve. I finally have my own dreams that are purely mine and not influenced by anyone else and I’m super excited and looking forward to for them to unfold in time.

As an entertainer and performer breaking the conventions, what does fashion mean to you?

Fashion to me is an extension of you. Its who you are. Every being is different and precious and have different choices. so to me whatever i wear represents me in every way. Represents my grace, strength, comfort,confidence and femininity.

As a beacon of inspiration to every woman out there who wishes to enter new fields of work, what is your advice to them?

Thank you for looking at me as an inspiration I’m honored. I want to tell every woman out there go all out. Explore your potential. Be smart be sassy or be whoever you are you deserve all the success, name, fame and love. Don’t ever compromise on your self for anyone. Keep yourself first and love your self truly. You are capable of so much just go with all heart and no doubts. And don’t let anyone dull your light. You have done that for years. Not anymore.

What is your favourite travel destination ?

Hmmmm I have a few. Greece, Switzerland,turkey and Italy.

Tell us about your upcoming shows/projects.

I’m currently working on a few film scripts. There’s work going on on scripting at the moment on two subjects. As soon as we are ready to announce i will. Other than that I’m working on myself to continue to stay in the love frequency.
