London Fashion Week June Edition Cancelled by British Fashion Council
The British Fashion Council (BFC) has officially cancelled the June edition of London Fashion Week (LFW), signaling a shift in focus for the prestigious event. Historically, the June edition of LFW has struggled to match the draw of the main seasonal showcases held during the major international fashion months, and this latest move underscores that trend.
While there has been no official announcement from the BFC, a quick glance at the LFW website reveals that no dates have been listed for the June event.

Instead, the BFC will redirect its efforts toward the London Show Rooms Paris event, which is set to take place from June 26 to July 1. This event will primarily focus on UK-based brands, with menswear being the key category on display.
Caroline Rush, the soon-to-be-former CEO of the British Fashion Council, shared insights with Vogue Business, explaining that the Paris showroom event aims to “generate sales and develop [brands’] relationships with international media outside of a traditional show environment.” Rush further emphasized the BFC’s commitment to providing vital commercial opportunities for British designers.
The London Show Rooms Paris event, which had been on hiatus since mid-2023, was relaunched in September of the same year. This move signals a new direction for the BFC as it adapts to the evolving dynamics of the global fashion industry.
Historically, the June edition of LFW struggled to maintain the same level of visibility and influence as the major seasonal events in other cities. Originally launched 13 years ago as London Collections: Men, the event gained traction during a time when dedicated men’s runway shows were in high demand. It quickly became a notable event on the international menswear calendar, attracting top British designers.
However, with the increasing trend toward co-ed fashion shows, many brands opted to showcase their menswear collections during the February or September editions of LFW—or even in other cities. The pandemic also took a toll, though the June edition remained strong through 2022 before experiencing a noticeable decline in 2023.
The shift towards focusing on London Show Rooms Paris represents a strategic move by the BFC to provide a menswear-friendly format during a time when other international fashion capitals are showcasing menswear collections. The hope is that this revamped event will offer British designers a prominent space in Paris, reinforcing London’s global fashion influence.
