interview
Jyoti Saxena Exclusive Feature | Fashion Herald
Tell us about your previous experience in the industry.
It’s always difficult for an outsider to make their way in the profession without assistance, and I believe I’ve carved out a niche for myself because of my hard work and devotion, as well as the potential to be a successful actress. I believe I had to work hard to prove myself, and I had to go through multiple auditions to get the job I want. The loops you walk in define everything. Bollywood is a very competitive environment where everything comes down to skill, hard effort, and how you play your cards. It’s always exciting to see superstars make a name for themselves in the minds of their audiences, and Jyoti Saxena is one of such actresses.
Tell us anything about yourself that few people in the industry are aware of and that has had a significant role in shaping who you are throughout your life.
There is nothing that many people in the industry don’t know or that has been crucial, I would just say that I am a very private person and I believe it is always good when you are constantly around the limelight and media to have a smaller group of people and those friends in front of whom you can be the real you leaving the fame aside. So I believe I am extremely upfront about my issues with my friends and family, and I am always consistent in my decisions.
What do you consider to be an ideal date? What filters does a guy have to go through in order to be the lucky one?
A perfect date for me is simply sitting on the beach with a bottle of wine, admiring the coastlines and the beauty of nature. I am a nature lover, thus an ideal date would be somewhere in nature. Such filters do not exist. I think I’ll look into a person and try to date him. I simply feel that the individual should smell well, which is very essential to me, as well as be family-oriented, loving, and most importantly, trustworthy, so this is what I always seek for.
Could you please tell us about your planned shoots and other projects?
I have a lot of things coming up that are now in the pipeline, and a few things have been stalled owing to the omicron phase. But I’m hoping that filming will begin soon because I’ll be travelling to Dubai shortly for my debut film, in which I’ll be seen doing a lot of action as well as humour, and I’m also in talks for music videos and series; whatever falls into place will be announced to my fans soon.
What is your personal fitness mantra?
I don’t have a fitness mantra that I stick to. But I usually try to carve out at least 40 minutes in my busy schedule for myself and my body, in which I sometimes do gym work, sometimes cardio, and sometimes I just meditate. But I make it a point to carve out time in my hectic schedule for myself and my body. I don’t even follow a rigorous diet, but I make sure to consume nutritious, clean foods and drink plenty of water.
You are a seasoned artist in the field. What advice do you have for new artists and fans entering the industry?
I’d like to convey to my admirers that if you want to work in the industry, you must be patient because things do not happen instantaneously or in a matter of seconds. Another thing is to believe in yourself and your ability to be among the greatest in the future. It all comes down to patience and a resolve to never give up on yourself or your convictions. That is the sole slogan I have followed and will continue to follow, as will my fans.
