Four Habits That May be Causing Your Migraines

Everyone in your family hasmigrains. Does that mean you are destined to have migraines? Absolutely not! It only means that there’s a possibility, and that your family history suggests there is something your grandmother, mother and you are doing in common that is predisposing you to develop migraines.
What you do during the day comprises your personal habits. Personal habits can make or break your health, and may be related to the development of migraines.
Here’s a list of four habits or migraine triggers from Fashion Herald that could cause or worsen a headache:
- Not drinking enough water.
Water is the universal solvent that dissolves just about everything with the exception of fats and oils. Biochemical reactions in your body depend on water. The detoxification process in the body depends on water to flush out toxins. Since migraines may be the way your body reacting to a toxin, it makes sense to increase your water intake if you have migraines or even regular headaches. There have been some cases where drinking water instead of popping a pill that cured a headache. Consider increasing your water intake. - Not eating enough vegetables.
Just as water assists the body with detoxification, so do vegetables. Thus, if you aren’t consuming enough of them, you’re decreasing your body’s ability to ward off an oncoming headache or migraine.The easiest way to increase vegetable consumption is to start eating them for snacks; instead of a candy bar, eat a tomato as if you were eating an apple. Instead of a bag of crunchy potato chips, eat two ribs of celery. Your crunch craving will be satisfied. - Taking too many headache medications.
You may not know that migraine medications can sometimes cause a headache! That’s a conundrum to be sure. Try to resolve your headaches naturally with herbs, essential oils, water and other natural substances. You’ll feel better and stay healthier in the long run.We’ve learned to turn to headache medications as a result of our culture. Television commercials flash quick fixes and new miracle cures and lead you to believe that this medication will solve all of your problems. One day when you don’t have a headache, list out the things you do that are a byproduct of our culture. You’ll be amazed by how many behaviors you display as a result of training. - Focusing on problems.
Have you ever noticed that focusing solely on your problems gives you a headache? While thinking, especially about challenging things, we tend to tense our muscles. It’s that tension in the muscles that causes the headache.Act like a detective and discover what personal habits you have that may be acting as migraine triggers. Substitute these for new habits and see how long you can be migraine free!
