FKA twigs Takes a Stand for Calvin Klein Visuals Following Ad Ban Drama
So, FKA twigs is out here defending her Calvin Klein ad, and the ASA is all like, “Nah, it’s too objectifying.” Apparently, they’re not fans of denim shirts being worn halfway around the body, revealing a side of the buttocks and half a breast. I mean, who knew Calvin Klein ads could stir up so much drama, right?
FKA twigs fired back on Instagram, saying, “I do not see the ‘stereotypical sexual object’ they labeled me. I see a beautiful, strong woman of color whose incredible body has overcome more pain than you can imagine.” Preach, FKA twigs, preach!
She even threw in some iconic names like Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt, and Grace Jones, basically saying, “I’m in good company, y’all!” Can’t argue with that.
Calvin Klein, on the other hand, is like, “We’ve been doing this for years, it’s all good!” They claim FKA twigs is a confident and empowered woman who approved the ad before it went public. The ASA, though, thinks the ad is more about showcasing FKA twigs’ body than the actual clothes. Talk about a fashion faux pas!
And of course, there’s Kendall Jenner in the mix too, but the ASA gave her a pass, saying her posters weren’t as focused on her body as FKA twigs’. The plot thickens in the world of fashion drama!
In the end, it’s just another day in the wild world of ads and controversies. Stay fabulous !
