Nike Names Ronald Acuña Jr. as First MLB Player to Head Nike Underwear Campaign
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. is making history as the first Major League Baseball player to headline a Nike underwear campaign. In this exciting role, Acuña Jr. will showcase his dynamic personality and MVP-level performance in Nike’s Spring 2025 global campaign.

Acuña Jr., a Venezuelan native, made his MLB debut with the Atlanta Braves in 2018, just four years after signing as an international free agent. His rookie season earned him the prestigious 2018 National League Rookie of the Year award. Since then, Acuña Jr. has accumulated four All-Star selections, three Silver Slugger Awards, and two seasons leading the league in stolen bases.
In 2023, Acuña Jr. solidified his legacy by joining the exclusive 40-40 club, becoming only the fifth player in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in a single season.
Acuña Jr. joins an impressive roster of elite athletes who have previously fronted Nike’s underwear campaigns, including soccer star Rúben Dias, NBA’s Rudy Gobert, and NFL quarterback Kyler Murray. This new partnership highlights Acuña Jr.’s growing influence both on and off the field, marking a significant moment in his career as he continues to shine on the global stage.
