Mellowdrama Unveils ‘AlterEgo’ Line from Fabric Waste
Womenswear brand Mellowdrama has launched ‘AlterEgo,’ a new ready-to-wear line that transforms fabric waste into garments celebrating individuality and self-expression while advocating for responsible production.
“The AlterEgo collection invites you to embrace your authentic self, whether for daily wear or special occasions,” the brand stated in a press release. “This line captures the essence of transformation, motivating you to step beyond the conventional. Inspired by an inner voice that challenges the norm, shuns monotony, and dismisses the ordinary, AlterEgo turns routine into something spectacular through a mix of relaxed comfort and dramatic style.”
The collection features materials like twill and cotton, shaping into gentle silhouettes complemented by contrasting tactile pieces and more structured outfits. Standout items include black ensembles with zipper-edged ruffles, metallic trench coats, and distressed denim crafted into fringes.
Priced from Rs 8,000, the ‘AlterEgo’ line is available through Mellowdrama’s direct-to-customer e-commerce site and at their new exclusive brand outlet in New Delhi’s upscale shopping area, The Dhan Mill. Mellowdrama was founded in 2016 by designer Aaina Mahajan, a London College of Fashion alumna, with a focus on “bold yet comfortable fashion.”
