Fearless & Fashion-Forward: Payal Ghosh | Top Fashion Lifestyle Curator India
If confidence had a face, and style a spirit, Payal Ghosh would be the embodiment of both. With her second stunning Fashion Herald cover lighting up our pages, Payal is back — radiant as ever and brimming with more fashion wisdom, sass, and stories than before. In a candid catch-up, she opens up about her journey since the last cover, the good, the chaotic, and the downright fashionable.

Hi Payal, great to have your second cover with us and you’re glowing more than ever! What has your journey in the fashion world been like since our last feature?
“Well, it’s been great and amazing,” she beams. “I’ve been inclined towards fashion since childhood, and I genuinely feel the love for it comes naturally to me. I love to be fashionable and at my best avatar — not for anyone else, but for myself.”
That unapologetic self-love? We’re all here for it. “I’ve had some wonderful designers and stylists working with me for the longest time, and I truly feel it’s been a blessed journey.” Clearly, her glow comes with a generous sprinkle of gratitude.
Was there a specific moment when fashion became more than just work — like a deeper part of your identity?
With zero hesitation, Payal answers, “Always.” She smiles, “Even if I wasn’t in the entertainment or glamour industry, and was doing a 9-5 corporate job, I’d still be fashionable.” That’s dedication, folks — HR policies be damned, the crop top will survive.
“Fashion has always been part of my DNA,” she adds. “The industry I’m in just makes it more visible, but I genuinely enjoy every bit of the process.”

The fashion world can sometimes be… let’s say, a little chaotic. Have you ever felt judged or pressured to dress a certain way? How did you deal with that?
“The pressure is always there,” Payal admits, “but ultimately, we decide which pressures are worth taking.”
Ain’t that the truth?
“Judgement happens no matter what — your looks, your body, everything. People don’t need filters to judge.” But what sets her apart is how she’s learned to protect her peace: “I never let it get to my heart or mind. I’ve always listened to my heart and done what I wanted to do. I think that’s where my strength comes from — I’ve been blessed to be fearless.” – Payal Ghosh
You’ve worked with so many designers and stylists over the years. Any particularly memorable collaborations that stand out?
“Well, I really can’t pick just one,” she says diplomatically. “In different stages of my life, I’ve had different designers and stylists who have worked immensely hard for me. I’m truly grateful to all of them.”
Okay, so she’s graceful and stylish — someone stop her before she wins Miss Congeniality and Best Dressed.

On the flip side, have you ever faced unprofessionalism or toxicity in the industry? What would you say to newcomers navigating that side of things?
“Oh yes,” she nods, without skipping a beat. “In my early days, yes.”
She shares one particularly frustrating incident: “I was given a call time for a big shoot, and I showed up professionally on time. But the photographer — a big name — arrived four hours late because he was shooting with an A-lister. The excuse was casual, but the disrespect wasn’t.”
That day was a turning point. “After that, I drew my boundaries. I became very vocal about what I like and don’t like. And since then? Never faced anything like that again.”
Lesson learned: never underestimate the power of polite assertiveness — or punctuality.
Finally, let’s spill some tea. What’s one fashion trend you hope never comes back and one you’d happily wear forever?
“Extreme low-rise jeans,” she laughs, visibly cringing. “Also known as bumsters. I don’t like them at all!”
(Let’s be honest, those jeans weren’t just low-rise, they were basically basement-level.)
“And something I’d wear forever? Bodycon outfits and crop tops with denims — that’s my go-to style.” She grins, proving that comfort and confidence never go out of fashion.
From navigating pressures to slaying in bodycons, Payal Ghosh is not just a fashion icon — she’s an inspiration for anyone learning to stand tall, stay stylish, and never settle. With a strong head on her shoulders and a bold wardrobe to match, she reminds us all that fashion is not just what you wear — it’s how you wear your truth.
Here’s to Payal, version 2.0 — bolder, brighter, and more badass than ever.
