EllaMarie Swimwear at New York Swim Week 2025— Where Sustainability Meets Sensuality
When Perth-based entrepreneur and proud mother Lauree Conte left the mining industry for fashion, it wasn’t just a career pivot—it was a calling. The shift began during a life-changing trip to Bali in 2023, where inspiration struck in the most unexpected way. Named after her daughter, EllaMarie Swimwear officially launched in January 2025 with a mission as clear as the ocean waters it celebrates: to create swimwear that’s adjustable, supportive, and enduring—while championing sustainability and empowering women of all shapes and stories.

EllaMarie Swimwear – A Runway Debut with Purpose
Fresh from making waves at New York Swim Week, EllaMarie Swimwear showcased a collection born from frustration with the fast-fashion status quo. Lauree’s personal experience with ill-fitting, cheaply made swimwear—often unreturnable and destined for the bin—ignited her commitment to do better. “Why should fast fashion dominate when it doesn’t fit, doesn’t last, and damages the planet?” she asks.
Her runway pieces combined sleek silhouettes and luxe textures with clever adjustability, ensuring each design hugs the body in all the right places. More than just beachwear, they’re a celebration of confidence, sensuality, and conscious design.
Sustainability at Its Core
For EllaMarie Swimwear, eco-friendly practices aren’t a marketing angle—they’re the foundation. Every piece is crafted from Carvico fabric, an Italian textile made with 78% recycled fibres, including ocean waste. It’s soft yet durable, offers SPF 50+ protection, and is chlorine-resistant. Packaging is biodegradable, storage bags are reusable cotton, and paper goods are recyclable.

The brand’s production is ethically handmade in Bali, in a family-run factory with high working standards and a genuine culture of care. Lauree personally visits the facility regularly to ensure every stitch reflects her values. “The wear-once mentality is damaging our planet,” she says. “We’re here to change that.”
The standout piece? The Lush Set—a sleek, high-cut bikini with fully adjustable straps and buttery-soft texture. Equal parts statement and staple, it’s sustainability stitched with self-love.
EllaMarie Swimwear – Celebrating Every Body
From its inception, EllaMarie Swimwear was designed for inclusivity. Adjustable fits cater to diverse body shapes, with models of all sizes gracing the brand’s campaigns. The next collection will take that commitment further, focusing on curvier women with a specially sourced, supportive fabric. As Lauree puts it, “After becoming a mum, I know how much our bodies change—we all deserve swimwear that makes us feel confident and sexy, no matter our shape.”

Beyond the Beach
EllaMarie designs are as versatile as they are beautiful. The Euphoria One-Piece pairs effortlessly with linen trousers and a blazer for resort chic, or slips under a crochet dress for a casual seaside lunch. The two-piece sets can be styled with denim shorts, flowy skirts, or gold accessories for a smooth transition from beach to bar.
From Perth to New York, and from Bali’s workshops to beaches worldwide, EllaMarie Swimwear is proof that fashion can be ethical, inclusive, and deeply personal—without ever compromising on style.
