Chola Kulcha is one of the most eaten cuisine in Lucknow. A dish from Punjab, the different variations of Chola Kulcha has gained popularity in Lucknow of the years. Interestingly the origins of das kulcha can be traced to pre-partition Punjab. It is believed that Ram Das, a cook during Maharaja Ranjit Singh regime developed this recipe and you would be surprise to know that initially this dish was prepared by baking in the oven in contrast to today where its cooked in tandoor. You can find it both as a street food as well as part of the menu of all the major restaurants in Lucknow.
