WINGS Fashion Festival Launches as Australia’s Bold New Platform for Alternative Fashion
WINGS Fashion Festival is set to debut in Sydney from May 8–10, 2025, as a bold, independent alternative to Australian Fashion Week. Founded by Alvi Chung (of fashion label Speed) and Daniel Neeson, the festival aims to spotlight emerging designers through immersive runway shows that merge fashion, music, art, and performance.

Unlike traditional fashion events, WINGS emphasizes inclusivity, artistic experimentation, and accessibility. Set inside the Plaza Hotel, the event will feature installations, live acts, and designs from breakout labels like Catholic Guilt, Joteo, Amiss, and more—many of whom have dressed stars like Julia Fox and The Kid LAROI.
WINGS positions itself as an inclusive, guerrilla-style platform aimed at redefining Sydney’s fashion culture and giving voice to underrepresented creatives. It rejects commercial constraints in favor of storytelling, artistic experimentation, and raw authenticity.
Described as “a cultural shift” and inspired by London’s historic underground scenes, WINGS rejects commercial norms in favor of raw creativity. After the main event, a pop-up store on George Street (May 10–25) will showcase exclusive pieces and host workshops, continuing WINGS’ mission to reshape the local fashion narrative.
After the festival, a pop-up store on George Street from May 10–25 will exhibit exclusive designs, artworks, and collaborative experiences, cementing WINGS as a new force in Australia’s cultural and fashion landscape.
