Vivienne Westwood Honors Punk-Romantic Legacy at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week
Vivienne Westwood made a striking debut at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2025, which is being held from April 23-27. Taking center stage at the Barcelona Bridal Night held at the historic Cloister of the University of Barcelona. Showcasing 30 looks, the collection paid homage to the rebellious legacy of its founder with a modern, sophisticated twist.

As the international guest of honor, the iconic British brand followed in the footsteps of major names like Giambattista Valli, Viktor&Rolf, and Elie Saab.
Since the designer’s passing in 2022, creative direction of the fashion house has been now led by Andreas Kronthaler and Brigitte Stepputtis, the brand reimagined bridalwear through bold silhouettes, structured corsets, handmade embroidery, and detachable layers. A monochrome palette dominated, with daring injections of darker hues and pink. Designs ranged from voluminous gowns and asymmetrical cuts to sheer details and even a playful finale with a Simpsons T-shirt.
The collection celebrated the rebellious bride, merging traditional bridalwear with experimental silhouettes and dramatic details. Featuring structured corsetry, asymmetrical draping, handmade embroidery, and detachable elements, each look transformed the bridal runway into a celebration of fearless individuality. The signature punk sensibility of the house emerged through unexpected touches: exaggerated volumes, veils paired with minis, and trouser suits that challenged bridal norms.
Set against a predominantly white palette, the collection wasn’t afraid to flirt with moodier hues and pops of pink, pushing the boundaries of romantic style. Closing the show with a whimsical Simpsons T-shirt, the presentation balanced elegance with irreverence, capturing the baroque-meets-punk tension that defined Westwood’s vision. With flagship bridal boutiques in cities like London, Paris, Milan, New York, and Los Angeles, the brand continues to offer brides around the world a chance to walk down the aisle with edge, artistry, and attitude.
The collection stayed true to Westwood’s punk roots, championing individuality and theatrical self-expression.
