Hailing streets of Mumbai, Vishal was born and brought up in Dagdi chawl. Through focus and hard worked he slowly worked his way up. He did odd jobs from cleaning tables at a restaurant to selling tickets in black. Vishal became independent at a very early age and even funded his own education. He completed MBA in Finance from symbiosis in Pune. Won Gladrags at 17. This was when his career took a turn towards the world of modelling n acting..

“To be honest I didn’t choose this industry but this industry chose me. Things happened by accident be it modelling or acting.” – says Vishal.

Describe your journey as a model/actor

As I said modelling happened after I won Gladrags. I’ve worked with all the major designers n walked the ramp for all of them.
I was cast by Shakti Films for my first show DIL VIL PYAR VYAR. I had gone with a friend who was to test but instead the picked me for the show. My first director Ashim Samanta taught me the art of facing the camera. So I actually got paid for learning 🤣.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion for me is being able carry watever u wear with confidence. It’s about accepting urself n not caring bout how people perceive you. Fashion for me is more about the fit then brand. I believe tat I should make the clothes look good n not otherwise. Also as I always say KAODE BRANDED HO NA HO SOCH BRANDED HONI CHAIYE 🤗

Your advice to the younger actors ?

Success comes with a lot of hard work but it also comes wit a lot of patience. Keep working on ur craft. Compete with only urself only then ull grow. And above all hav gratitude cos the universe is watching 🙏

What to expect next from Vishal Kotian ?

Doin a Marathi film in lead and a big music video as of now. Taking one day at a time. Not rushing into projects. Now is the time to experiment. Hav been offered a few web project, will finalise one soon. Also looking at hosting something for a GEC channel. For me no work is big or small it’s always good or bad.. So will keep entertains n keep doin good work.
