Uttar Pradesh Unveils Bold Textile Push at Gartex Texprocess India 2025
At Gartex Texprocess India 2025, Uttar Pradesh stepped into the spotlight—quite literally—with a fresh spin on tradition and a big-picture vision to become a $1 trillion economy. With its sights set on global investment and sustainable growth, the state launched new textile and garment policies that are set to reshape India’s fabric narrative.

Represented by Invest UP and the Directorate of Handloom & Textiles at Gartex Texprocess India 2025, the state brought energy and clarity to the trade floor, showcasing its rich heritage alongside ambitious plans for industrial transformation. And leading the charge? None other than Shashank Chaudhary, Additional CEO of Invest UP, who delivered a compelling address at the event’s inaugural session.
“Uttar Pradesh, home to timeless weaves—from Banarasi silks to Lucknow’s iconic chikankari—is blending the charm of tradition with the pulse of modern manufacturing,” Chaudhary said. He also spotlighted the upcoming PM Mitra Mega Textile Park in Lucknow, a key part of the state’s textile and garmenting revival strategy, along with investor-friendly incentives under the U.P. Textile and Garmenting Policy – 2022.
The inaugural session drew heavyweights from across the textile map, including Sanjay Savkare, Maharashtra’s Minister of Textiles. Notable presentations followed from K.P. Verma of the Handloom & Textiles Department and Anuruddha Kshatriya of Invest UP, laying out the red carpet of policy incentives and streamlined business support for both Indian and international players.
The UP delegation is actively engaging with stakeholders throughout the three-day event, running from May 22 to May 24 in Mumbai, reaffirming its commitment to ease of doing business, infrastructure development, and sustainable industrialization.
With style rooted in culture and a strategy fueled by innovation, Uttar Pradesh is not just weaving textiles—it’s weaving the future.
