Umang 2014 : THE URBAN BOULEVARD, an event with an endless celebrity list !!
UMANG is an annual inter college cultural festival organized by Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. The festival recently completed its 15th year and catered to a crowd of over 50,000 students over a span of 4 days. Since its inception in the year 2000, Umang has grown exponentially and has been tagged as Asia’s fastest growing inter college festival. Living upto its motto “Reach for Moo-re…” Umang provides a great platform for wide spectrum of arts and attracts a huge crowd of young audience each year. Umang is undoubtedly one of the most sought after festival in Mumbai and competes with the likes of Malahar.
As in every college festival it’s the students that start the planning months before the actual event day. Its their passion, commitment and hard work that makes Umang what essentially means ‘happiness and enthusiasm’ and it stands very true to its meaning. Approximately 300 students from NM College come together who work day in and day out to make Umang a successful event every year. During the 4 days of extravaganza in the college campus, a whole new world comes to life! It’s not yet another college festival but a religion for the students of NM College.
The students conduct various competitions, inviting students from disparate colleges spread all over India to participate and shine.
Events like Campus Princess: Road To Miss India Universe, The Umang Stock Exchange presented by Bombay Stock Exchange and The Umang Model United Nations left the audiences in awe.
This year, at Umang’14: The Urban Boulevard, the students pulled out all the stops and geared up for a success that will be talked about long after the event. Umang has taken the city by whirlwind and bought a change in everyone who’s ever been a part of it.

Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Shradha Kapoor, Vihal Bharadwaj, Rohit Shetty, Amol Gupte, Bipasha Basu, Richa Chadda, Mudassar Khan, MJ5 and Nikhil Drivedi graced the red carpet at Umang 2014.
Events like street dance and war of DJ are two marquee events that have been the standout events that have been talked about and voted as one of the best events among the visiting students and the participants at Umang. Besides these events like campus princess, bollywood dance, fusion band event, guitar war are also popular among the students as this gives them an opportunity to exhibit their talent at a bigger stage. The event is also covered in the media during the 4 days of the event.
