Anushka Shetty is an Indian actress and model who predominantly works in Telugu and Tamil films. She is one of the highest-paid South Indian actresses and is popularly referred as the “Superstar” of South Indian cinema.

Shetty was born in Mangalore, Karnataka, India, on November 7, 1981. She made her acting debut with the 2005 Telugu film Super, which garnered her a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress – Telugu nomination. The following year, she starred in S.S. Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu, which was a critical and commercial success. Shetty’s performance in the film was praised by critics and she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu for her role.

In 2009, Shetty starred in the supernatural thriller Arundhati, which was a major critical and commercial success. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu and Nandi Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
