Puma to Continue Partnership with Virat Kohli Amid Rumors of Rival Offers
Amidst swirling rumors of potential brand shifts, sportswear giant Puma has reaffirmed its commitment to cricket superstar Virat Kohli as their brand ambassador. Karthik Balagopalan, Managing Director of Puma India, asserted that their longstanding relationship with Kohli remains intact, dismissing speculations suggesting otherwise. The association, forged in 2017, holds significant value, estimated at around Rs 110 crore.
Speculation had mounted surrounding Kohli’s potential collaboration with sportswear and lifestyle brand Agilitas Sports, as reported by Livemint. Furthermore, a CNBC TV18 report hinted at Kohli’s departure from Puma India to align with Agilitas Sports.
Notably, Agilitas Sports, helmed by entrepreneur Abhishek Ganguly, gained attention following its launch last May. Ganguly, the former Managing Director of Puma India during Kohli’s initial tenure as brand ambassador, steered Agilitas Sports into the limelight, securing Rs 100 crore in funding from Nexus Venture. The brand quickly gained traction, reporting robust growth in its nascent stages.
