Olivia Rodrigo Stuns Glastonbury with Surprise Robert Smith Duet and Unstoppable Energy
Olivia Rodrigo turned her Glastonbury headlining set into an unforgettable night of nostalgia, power, and pure pop-rock brilliance as she brought out The Cure’s Robert Smith for a surprise collaboration. As the crowd roared in disbelief, Olivia introduced Smith with glowing admiration, saying, “He’s perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England. He is a Glastonbury legend and a personal hero of mine. Would you please welcome, Robert Smith!” Emerging with his iconic disheveled hair, dramatic eyeliner, and sparkly black jacket, Smith carried his star-adorned acoustic guitar to the centre stage. Together, they launched into “Friday I’m in Love” and “Just Like Heaven,” with fans singing along to every word, creating a dreamlike moment that merged generations of music.

For her performance, Olivia channelled fierce goddess energy in a white lacy corseted mini dress. The bodice featured structured boning with silver eyelets running down the front, giving her a cinched waist silhouette that radiated both delicacy and strength. The skirt’s scalloped lace edges flowed with every step she took, while her fishnet tights added a rebellious rock-chic edge to the look. The outfit blended romanticism and modern confidence, amplifying her stage presence under the Glastonbury lights as she moved effortlessly, hair cascading down her shoulders in natural waves.
Olivia opened her set with “Obsessed,” “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,” and “Vampire,” filling the Pyramid Stage with explosive vocals and commanding energy that belied her age. “Holy fucking shit, this is the most people I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” she exclaimed breathlessly, pausing to soak in the endless sea of cheering fans. Her set flowed through emotional ballads like “Driver’s License” at her piano, where the crowd swayed under the night sky, to hits like “Traitor,” “Bad Idea Right,” “Happier,” and “Enough for You,” each song delivered with raw vulnerability and magnetic charisma.
The last segment of her performance included “So American,” which she dedicated to the British boy she fell in love with – a sweet nod to her current relationship with English actor Louis Partridge. She closed the night with a powerful encore, returning to the stage in Union Jack shorts and a shirt reading “You know all the lyrics to Just Like Heaven,” a perfect tribute to The Cure as she launched into “Brutal,” “All-American Bitch,” “Good 4 U,” and “Get Him Back,” ending the set with fireworks lighting up the dark Glastonbury sky in celebration of her triumph.
From her iconic 2022 performance where she brought out Lily Allen to dedicate “Fuck You” to the U.S. Supreme Court, to sharing the stage with Robert Smith this year, Olivia Rodrigo continues to solidify herself as a fearless voice for her generation. As her Guts World Tour extends into 2025 with upcoming shows across LA, Brazil, Mexico City, Dublin, and Manchester, Olivia proves that she isn’t just a pop star – she’s a powerful storyteller commanding global stages with authenticity, heart, and an electric energy that fans will never forget.
