When Two Fashion Visions Align: Niti Gupta of The AFRA World Collaborates with Ritu Beri
In global fashion, the most meaningful collaborations are born not from spectacle, but from alignment — of values, intent, and long-term vision. The collaboration between Niti Gupta, founder of The AFRA World, and fashion pioneer Ritu Beri reflects this meeting of minds, bringing together two complementary perspectives of Indian fashion on the international stage.

Ritu Beri’s contribution to positioning Indian couture within global fashion capitals is well established. From Paris to Milan, her work has carried India’s design language beyond borders with authority and elegance. Niti Gupta, meanwhile, approaches fashion as a curator and cultural connector, shaping how designers, brands, and audiences experience fashion across regions.
Their cross-continental resort wear showcase in Goa embodied a shared belief that fashion today must move fluidly between creativity, culture, and context. It was conceived not simply as a presentation, but as an experience — one that allowed collections to be understood within their environment.

For Niti, the collaboration builds naturally on years of curating fashion and lifestyle platforms across Dubai, London, India, Africa, and Serbia. With nearly fifteen international curated events to her credit, she is known for creating spaces that prioritise narrative over noise, bringing designers, artisans, and brands together within thoughtfully structured environments.
The partnership with Ritu Beri added a powerful creative dimension. Beri’s mastery of couture, craftsmanship, and global fashion systems lent authority, while Niti’s curatorial lens ensured storytelling that resonated with diverse international audiences. The Goa showcase represented a convergence of legacy and contemporary vision — rooted in experience yet forward-looking in execution.
A graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), specialising in leather garment design and technology, Niti later refined her artistic sensibility at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art in London. This blend of technical knowledge and artistic perspective enables her to bridge creative intent with experiential execution.

Launched in April 2022, The AFRA World was conceived as a platform rather than a conventional event, redefining fashion experiences in Dubai and the Middle East by integrating couture, lifestyle, and design within a culturally nuanced framework.
Beyond curation, Niti Gupta’s ventures — including Escapades by Niti Gupta and Niti Gupta Events — extend fashion beyond the runway into immersive environments where it intersects with lifestyle, architecture, and retail.
At its core, this collaboration reflects a broader shift in how Indian fashion is presented globally — moving from isolated showcases to holistic ecosystems. As fashion becomes an ongoing dialogue between cultures and markets, collaborations such as this point to a thoughtful and future-facing way forward, rooted in respect, relevance, and global vision.
