It’s true that we cannot travel during lockdown and it is being hard on all of us as we see our plans get canceled one by one. Staying at home maybe hard on the mind but it safer for us as well as the world out there and soon enough we hope that with proper vaccination and by following the protocols we will be free of the virus and be allowed to travel again and satisfy our wanderlust.

Until then you can sit protected inside the warmth of your own home and travel as far as your imagination can take you. You cannot have an adventure but you can be a part of many adventures by watching a movie right?

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

We all are guilty of finding an escape from our day to day world by day dreaming about situations, events and adventures and so did the protagonist of this movie, Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller). He engages so much into his grand day dreams that he often loses the connection to the real world and acts absent-mindedly. He works at the LIFE magazine and develops pictures for the publication but his life has become tedious, until one day, luckily enough, life gives him an opportunity to have a real adventure when his office sends him on an important mission to get a picture for the Magazine’s next issue.

This movie will set fire to your wanderlust soul and feed you with beautiful plotline, imagery and songs that will most definitely take away your boredom.

Due Date

This hilarious movie is about a man named Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.), who is about to become a father for the first time. He tries to catch a flight to Atlanta to reach to his wife before the baby is born but unfortunately (fortunately) his life is disturbed by the entry of a man named Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) who is quite an unusual character to say the least.

Due to the situation, Peter is forced to take a road trip with Ethan and his dog, who he has met for the first time and things take a crazy turn.  Join Ethan, an aspiring actor, and Peter in this interesting journey where they engage in insane situations and allow you to have a great time.

Into The Wild

This movie is based on a true story and follows the life of Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch), who was a top notch student at Emory University and an athlete. He belonged to a rich family and his life seemed to be a prestigious one for the future. But he decided to give it all away in search for a greater meaning in life. He donated his money to charity and after letting go of all his possessions, he goes out into the wild.

The movie follows the journey of Christopher after he goes into the Alaskan wilderness and beautifully shows how life is at the heart of wild where each day brings something new with it. Full of adventure and beautiful scenes, haunting emotions and the story of a boy who left it all behind to pursue adventure, this movie is a must-watch on this list.

Quarib Quarib Singlle

Qarib Qarib Singlle starring Parvathy Thiruvothu as Jaya and Late Actor Irrfan Khan as Yogi, is a light-hearted, fresh and fun movie with a simple plot, characters and storyline yet not so simple idea and circumstances. Yogi, played brilliantly by Irrfan Khan, is a lovable and lively character that steals the show as soon as he enters the screen. A poet by passion, Yogi speaks to Jayashree about the three love of his life, claiming that all three of them were epic, he claims that his exes still cry remembering him, at this Jayashree challenges him jokingly, asking him to make a trip and meet them to see if they actually miss him.

Yogi gets an idea out of this and asks Jayashree if she would like to come along, at which she laughs but out of a moment of excitement, Jayashree agrees to the trip, still fighting with the urge to cancel but before she knows it, she is at the airport with Yogi on the edge of starting a new journey. This movie is a good watch and fills you up with the excitement of treating life as an adventure and taking risks.

 Forrest Gump

The movie Forrest Gump, starred by Tom Hanks and based on a novel by Winston Groom, is one of those movies that you get instantly connected to and re-watch again and again. Be it the amazing acting, the interesting story-line or the heartwarming emotions surrounding the movie, the right sense of humor or the blend of it all, this movie creates a special place in your heart.

Forrest Gump is a man with a low IQ and a kind and loving heart whose life is surrounded with events and adventures sometimes unwanted. In his heart, Forrest is connected to his childhood friend Jenny and wants to protect her and keep her out of trouble. She ends up having a lot of impact on Forrest’s life. The movie is a combination of love, warmness, adventure, and emotions that makes it one of the best drama movies.

Spirited Away

This is a different genre then the rest of the movies on the list but the adventure in this movie will tingle your fantasies. Although the adventure takes place in the land of spirits that sadly we cannot visit (or can we?). Spirited Away is an anime which has won several awards for the amazing imagination of its creator.

This movie is packed with visual brilliance, a vivid animation and storyline. 10 year old chihiro and her parents find themselves in a seemingly abandoned city and start to explore. Unfortunately, chihiro’s parents turn into giant pigs and as evening comes Chihiro realizes that the place is full of supernatural spirits.

Chihiro meets a mysterious character named Haku who tells her that if she wants to free her parents and go back to her realm, she must work at the amusement park where the spirits come to enjoy.

Captain Fantastic

Ben Cash lives a peaceful life with his six children and wife Leslie in the deep wilderness of Washington State. They have taught their children to grow in nature’s lap and make them athletic, fit and have made them strong to withstand the threats of nature.

The family co-exists with nature without any kind of technology and enjoys the life that the wild offers. Unfortunately, after the death of Leslie, the father has to raise all six children on his own and after his wife’s death he has to take them out of the wild for the first time.

The movie has elements of humor and a strange sense of happiness in it but it is also surrounded by an atmosphere of passion.  This movie shows us the world with a complete different perspective of a family which has always been away from the world where we live in.
