Where Style Meets Compassion : International IPOH Fashion Week 2024 scheduled for 25 October

The International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW) is back, and it’s more fabulous than ever! This year, the highly anticipated Season 6 of IIFW will take place on October 25th and 26th, 2024, in the historic town of Taiping, Perak. With the theme “From Taiping with Love,” this year’s event is extra special, as it coincides with Taiping’s 150th anniversary. Fashion lovers, history buffs, and philanthropists alike will be treated to a two-day extravaganza of style, culture, and heartwarming charity.

A Fashion Week with a Cause

Founded by the visionary Louis Sebastian and Ms. Adeline Khan in 2017, IIFW has made waves in the fashion industry, not just for its jaw-dropping fashion showcases but also for its deep-rooted commitment to social causes. This year’s event is all about Fashion Tourism with a Heart. IIFW Season 6 will support children’s medical care and even extend a helping hand to animal welfare at Zoo Taiping. Fashion, after all, is not just about looking good—it’s about doing good.

Event Highlights You Can’t Miss!

• 25th October 2024 (Friday, 7:30 PM – 11:00 PM): A red carpet Royale Gala Dinner will transform the Perdana Ballroom at Hotel Taiping Perdana into a stylish haven. Guests are expected to don their finest tuxedos and gowns for this black-tie affair, where local and international designers will showcase their latest collections.
• 26th October 2024 (Saturday, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM): The scenic Raintree Walk Lake Garden will turn into an open-air runway for a Street Fashion Runway show, featuring a blend of Perak’s natural beauty and cutting-edge fashion. Over 10 designers, both local and international, will present their couture in what promises to be a spectacular visual feast.

Star-Studded Performances

As if the stunning designs weren’t enough, the event will be graced by sensational performances by Ayu Damit, Malaysia’s renowned singer, and Martin Looi, a violinist whose music merges contemporary pop with the timeless allure of the violin. We’ll also see special acts from Indonesian artists Rita NaSiak and Fivien Novita, making the evening a blend of fashion and musical artistry.

• Gilbert Headhunter
• Puan Aspekraf and Galeri Ummi from Indonesia
• Mukrawee Lee from Thailand
• Loaya from Morocco
• Malaysian brands like Bajuux (Gene Martino & Polo Haus), Tidal Beachwear by VIQ, Rohacraft, and Hauz of Borneo
• Plus-size fashion from Khair Johari

With 70+ models strutting the runway, including those as young as six and as seasoned as 60+, IIFW promises to be a celebration of diversity and inclusivity. Fashion isn’t just for one body type, and IIFW proves that with models from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Iran, Morocco, and Egypt.
