Ed Sheeran Pokes Fun at His Past Looks After Making Best-Dressed List
Ed Sheeran is known for his chart-topping music and sold-out stadium tours, but now he’s gaining unexpected recognition in the world of fashion. The British singer-songwriter was recently celebrated for his style at the TIME100 Gala in New York City, where he wore a soft pink suit that landed him on a best-dressed list—something he jokingly admits was a first.

Taking to Instagram on April 25, Sheeran marked the moment with a post that featured the praised outfit alongside a series of throwback looks that, as he put it, earned him “worst dressed” titles in years past. “Got put on the best dressed list yesterday for the @time gala,” he wrote, before inviting followers to “swipe right” through a carousel of vintage red carpet photos—one showing him in a lime green hoodie and baggy jeans, another layering skull prints over neon sleeves.
While he didn’t mention which best-dressed list he made, the fashion glow-up comes as Sheeran celebrates another major milestone: being named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025. The gala honored his 15-year career of music-making, which includes four No. 1 albums and countless hits. Fellow honorees included Snoop Dogg and BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ.
In the corresponding TIME cover story, actor Chris Hemsworth praised Sheeran’s universal appeal, writing, “He has an instinct for storytelling that makes you feel like he wrote that song just for you.” With a new single, “Azizam,” already out and his upcoming album Play on the horizon, Sheeran seems to be entering a new era—one where music and style go hand in hand.
