Biba Founder Meena Bindra Unveils Memoir at Brand Event
Biba, the renowned women’s ethnic wear brand, celebrated the launch of its founder Meena Bindra’s memoir at a special event. The gathering was graced by the presence of government minister Smriti Irani, along with numerous dignitaries and friends of the brand.

“A night woven with love and legacy,” Biba shared on its official Facebook page, posting pictures from the event. “Our founder, Mrs Meena Bindra, unveiled her memoir, ‘A Stitch in Time: The Biba Story,’ surrounded by family, friends, and the esteemed Mrs Smriti Irani. A heartfelt celebration of Biba’s journey and her inspiring resilience!”
The memoir, published by Rupa Publications, narrates Bindra’s path as an entrepreneur and creative force. During the event, Bindra signed copies of her book and discussed the journey of writing her inaugural memoir.
Bindra initiated her first clothing venture from her home in 1982 and officially founded Biba in 1988. The brand opened its first exclusive outlet in Mumbai in 2004 and has since expanded to numerous stores across India and select international locations, alongside a direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform. It’s important to note that this Biba has no affiliation with the UK-based fashion label of the same name, established in the 1960s and still in operation.
In addition to the memoir launch, Biba recently introduced its ‘Wedding Edit’ collection, tailored for the winter wedding season, as announced on Instagram. This collection offers a range of outfits for brides and bridesmaids, designed to harmonize their appearances for wedding ceremonies and subsequent celebrations.
